Western Turkey has been struck by an earthquake measuring 5.8-magnitude on the Richter Scale on May 19, 2011, according to United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The temblor which has a depth of 9.1 kilometers (km), hit the epicenter, 80 km West Soutwest of Kutahya, at 11:15 p.m., local time (20:15, UTC).
There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake. However, an unverified report says a person died of heart attack after getting into panic when the strong quake struck which was earlier reported as 6.0-magnitude.
