Barack Obama Uses Sasha and Malia to Belittle Congress

I can't say that I disagree with Obama on the amount of time Congress is spending away from Washington, DC right now. There are some real critical issues that seem to be taking a back seat all so Congressmen like Billy Long (R-MO) can go tour student loan hungry colleges like Everest College--a college known to prey on students with the promise of education in exchange for masses amount of student loan debt.

We need to be working to make serious cuts to spending and the size of government, and Republicans are out pumping gas trying to decide if Americans are angry over high gas prices. Hell yeah, we're angry. How did you miss the memo?

I find it hypocritical on Obama's part, who has played the part of a playboy in the Oval Office jetsetting around the world. Remember this guy has no problem telling you that you must conserve on energy as he flies  his private jet to New York City on your dime for dinner and a Broadway play. I am sure you will find Obama playing golf multiple times this week as well.

The point here this debt ceiling is a real crisis, and it appears while both sides are busy playing and pulling off political theater, little is being done to try to stop what is now the inevitable--raising the debt ceiling. You can bet John Boehner is going to lead the GOP to a compromise.

I have to cringe for one obvious reason. There have been many children in the White House, but I have never heard a president use their own children for political gain and to belittle the opposing party like Barack Obama does. In case you missed his press conference from earlier today.

In a news conference that was rife with criticism for Congress, the president invoked his daughters' study habits in pressing lawmakers to reach a deal on the debt limit.

Mr. Obama said Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, both get their homework done a day early.

"They don't wait until the night before," he said. "They're not pulling all-nighters. Congress can do the same thing. If you know you've got to do something, just do it."

The president said he was amused by comments that he should show more leadership on the issue, saying he's met with caucuses on both sides of the aisle and that the talks led by Vice President Joe Biden have shown progress.

"At a certain point, they need to do their job," the president said about Congress.

Since politics is a profession often compared to prostitution, is it really a good idea to use your own daughters to belittle your political foes? I think it shows how little class Obama really does have.
