Las Vegas - An Arab-American girl's 24-year-old beat 50 other girls for the title of U.S. beauty queen, Miss USA 2010, Sunday (16 / 5), although he nearly fell in the evening gown fashion show.

Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Michigan, won the beauty pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas after berlenggak-swing with confidence in an orange bikini and gold. Fakih, a Lebanese immigrant, told the committee of a beauty contest that her family is Muslim and Christian. She moved to the U.S. as an infant and raised in New York, where She attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.

The committee said the historical record of the contest was not detailed enough to show whether Fakih is an Arab-Americans, Muslims or immigrants who first won the title of Miss USA. The contest was started in 1952 as a swimsuit competition in Long Beach, California.


Fakih said he sold his car after graduating from a university in Michigan to help pay the cost for the contest Miss Michigan USA.

She sure can win the title after briefly lock eyes with Donald Trump, owner of a beauty contest it. Fakih's main competition is the Miss Oklahoma, Elizabeth Morgan, who occupied the second place.

"The view (Trump) is the same as the view which he gave when he said, 'You're accepted'," says Fakih, referring to Trump reality show, "The Apprentice". Trump praised the winners, saying, "She's an extraordinary girl."

When almost done demonstrate evening gowns, Fakih almost fell because of the length of the train. Fakih replace Christian Dalton Miss USA 2009 and will represent the U.S. this summer in the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant.

She also received one year of use of an apartment in New York with the cost of living, salaries are not mentioned in number, and get a variety of health services, professional, and beauty.

In the interview sessions, Fakih was asked her opinion about the pill which should be paid by high-priced health insurance. "I believe that birth control pills the same as other drugs and can be paid," said Fakih.

Beauty pageant that has nothing to do with the Miss America beauty pageant was hosted by famous chef Curtis Stone and correspondent for NBC, Natalie Morales.
