International Baccalaureate Pushes Redistribution of Wealth Theme at IB Americas Conference 2011 in Texas #ibtexas

The International Baccalaureate, a radical left-wing education agenda that is being adopted by conservative communities like Ozark, Missouri with the promise of better education, is meeting in Texas this weekend for their IB Americas Conference 2011 in Texas. Taking note of the conference, the selected speakers didn't hide their anti America, redistribution of wealth agenda in their speeches.

Khaled Hosseini spoke to the educators at Texas. Pay close attention to the guilt you are supposed to feel from wearing nice clothes and enjoying an abundance of natural resources in the United States.

“The mindset of scarcity is so pervasive“

Aruna Kharod reports back after attending Khaled Hosseini’s plenary session on the second day of the conference.

“In America, we are so used to abundance in everyday life—everything, from food to daily necessities is there at our fingertips. So why do we constantly feel as if something in our lives is lacking? Perhaps it is because “the mindset of scarcity is so pervasive”, as Khaled Hosseini suggests.

We are raised in a society that constantly strives for superlatives—the most expensive clothes, the biggest house, the highest income. This kind of focus, in my opinion, is shallow because we can easily forget that there are others in the world who have so much less than we do, and yet are satisfied with their lives.

The Khaled Hosseini Foundation aims to enlighten and empower students to act on their sentiment and reach out. Through a UN partnership, the foundation provides Afghani refugees with materials and knowledge to build a small shelter. Students can help, too—a $1500 donation can buy the necessary materials.

Hosseini’s observations were eye-opening for me and I am anxious to spread the message and act on the sentiment of goodwill by doing what I can; I want to spread the knowledge through my school this coming year.”

These are the themes that will hit your child when they enroll in the IB. You are to feel guilty for being an American. You should redistribute your wealth to refugees around the world rather than go to Areopostale and buy designer jeans.

Personally, I don't feel our lives are lacking, but this is typical left wing rhetoric, similar to what Obama uses to push socialism, that educators from around the United States are feeding on to take back to their students and indoctrinate in the IB classroom. Guilt, guilt, guilt, and for what?

Being and American. This is the IB. This came right off the IBO.org Web site. This is a prime example about why you should be concerned about the IBO in your classroom.

Let me ask you a question. Those parents who sent their children off to school wanting them to have a better education. Do you send your kids off hoping for a better education so they can live in squalor and poverty? Or do you send them off to school hoping they will achieve so they can have things like the most expensive clothes, the biggest house, the highest income.

I would think the latter, after all nobody raises their kids in America hoping they will be complete failures. Yet, the IBO just attacked the rewards of success that come from a better education and applied hard work. This should open everyone's eyes about the truth about the International Baccalaureate.
