Rush Limbaugh gave his account of the Joplin experience today. For the record, all the libs over at Randy Turner's blog (and this isn't an attack on Turner because I respect Mr. Turner as a journalist) need to realize that Rush brought a pro-American message to Joplin that was inspirational and very American without making it about politics. Mr. Turner's article in the Huffington Post was quick to express concern over Rush's appearance at Joplin at Republican party building rhetoric. It definitely wasn't that.
Of course, Rush did joke about it, but that stemmed from a silly Harvard study that reported the Fourth of July is an indoctrination for children to become Republicans. That's what Turner's concerns were even though Rush was only commenting on the absurd Harvard study.
With that said, Rush never planned to make it about politics. He wanted to make his speech about Joplin and America. When a couple of Southwest Missouri politicians begged Rush to introduce him on stage, Rush Limbaugh said no.
Wanna bet one of those politicians is a certain Congressman who wears a white Boss Hogg cowboy hat and once claimed he didn't go running to a camera and microphone every time one was offered, but for some reason since getting to Congress feels the need to run to a camera and microphone?
