And the Name of the New Van Halen CD Is?
We don't know yet, but what we do know is the music picked up where 1984 left off. Apparently Van Halen has a bunch of demos prepared before David Lee Roth left to go solo. The band began working with these demos to get ideas for the new album, which should create good synergy from days gone by.
“What makes it so great is that they took what they could from all their old demos back in the ’80s and pretty much did what they could to create songs out of old ideas, so it sounds like vintage Van Halen,” divulged former Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti to Ross Ford’s morning radio show on Colorado’s 94.3 KILO. “Musically, it sounds in the [early '80s] era. I didn’t hear any vocals — David [Lee Roth] was not there. It was just the three of them and the music sounded like very authentic, old-school Van Halen.”
So we have to wait a few more days until we get to find out the name of this new work, but at least it will resemble old school Van Halen. That's something I am sure most of us agrees is a good sign of things to come.
