I Fell for the Hershey Chocolate Air Delight Gimmick

I normally don't pick up candy bars. I will look at the candy and the cute celebrities on the covers of tabloids when I stand in the checkout line. For some strange reason this new candy bar caught my eye. I don't know why. I wanted to believe that it would be a strange new magical experience on an old favorite.

It had that familiar brown and silver logo on it--HERSHEY'S. But it was different, much different. It had lively bubbles on it as if Lawrence Welk was part of the magic. It's name was HERSHEY's Air Delight, and for some strange reason, I bought into the hype.

Explore a new sensation with HERSHEY’S AIR DELIGHT Bar. Your taste buds have never experienced chocolate bubbles like these …

It was HERSHEY's chocolate with air bubbles. It sounded light and dreamy. I mean what does air taste like? It's not like I am presented with this question every day. Then to add that taste to chocolate, I knew this candy bar must be special.

So I placed it on the belt and the cashier rang it up. I quickly took it out to my car and opened it before it started to melt. The anticipation was killing me. That first bite...

And you know what...

It tasted something like this:

I was suckered by a gimmick, a gimmick full of hot air. Geez!
