Will Mexican Truck Drivers Fuel Obama's War on the Second Amendment?

Obama recently told Sarah Brady he is working under the radar to put more restrictions on the Second Amendment. About that same time, it was uncovered the Obama administration was shipping weapons down to Mexico to track gun violence by drug traffickers. Considering Obama was putting guns in the hands of the bad guys, and the rhetoric has intensified blaming American gun shop owners for selling to the bad guys, one has to wonder if Obama is pushing arms in order to push the rhetoric considering these stories when mostly unnoticed by the mainstream media.

Now the Obama administration appears to have a new tool in place to work under the radar. By opening up American roads to Mexican truck drivers, you invite more drug trafficking and obviously the opportunity for truck drivers to smuggle arms back into Mexico with American serial numbers. This is something Second Amendment advocates should take note of.

Here's the details on the March 30 meeting with Sarah Brady:

During a March 30 meeting between Jim and Sarah Brady and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, at which Obama “dropped in,” the president reportedly told Brady, “I just want you to know that we are working on it (gun control)….We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

The quote appeared in an April 11 Washington Post story about Obama’s gun control czar Steve Croley.

Of course a few days earlier, we learned about Obama's arming of Mexican drug lords:

In Project Gunrunner, ATF allowed American guns – including AK-47 assault rifles and military-grade, .50 caliber sniper rifles – to be smuggled into Mexico and sold to drug cartels, with the goal of tracking the weapons after they’ve been used.

The project began during the Bush administration in Laredo, Texas, in 2005 as a trial, morphing into a national program in 2006. The guns were sold and tracked electronically, giving law enforcement agents valuable intelligence on where the weapons went and who had them.

During the Bush years, no guns were allowed to cross the border into Mexico. When President Obama took office in 2009, things changed. Obama’s ATF continued Project Gunrunner, but made a crucial decision to allow guns to be “walked” into Mexico, eventually ending up in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

The results, in at least one instance, were tragic. Two AK-47s ATF officials were tracking were found at the scene of U.S. border agent Brian Terry’s murder.

Now Obama has opened up the highways for increased trafficking of both guns and drugs. I bet in the coming months, violence in Mexico will be brought to new heights and blamed on Americans as Obama begins pushing new gun control laws.
