Barack Obama's NASA Bows Out of the Space Race: Russia to Lead World in Space Race

Did you know the last two Space Shuttles had not reached half-life? The shuttles were designed to enter space 125 times, and the last two shuttles hadn't even gone 40 times to space. With that said, the headlines read today Russia now is the leader in the space race. In just a few days, America's only vehicle to get into space will be a young museum piece too early to retire.

Here's the real kicker in Barack's America. Even without space exploration, NASA's budget is set to increase next year. No immediate space missions for NASA and the budget increases, all the while we were told the shuttle program must be retired because the money is no longer there.

Make no doubt. The signs are there. We just marked the 50th anniversary of perhaps one of the greatest Democrats, John F. Kennedy calling out his vision for America in space.

You aren't going to get that inspiration from one Barack Obama. Rather NASA is set to become his puppet to push his global warming agenda. In other words, in 50 years, NASA went from marking America's exceptionalism to Obama's mouthpiece denouncing its great achievements as costly to the earth. And the great space race, which we so arrogantly thought we won, is now Russia's to gain superiority of.

Consider the news today:

As the United States winds down its shuttle programme in a symbolic twist in a long-running space rivalry, Russia will gain complete control of access to the International Space Station.

The Russian space agency plays down any triumphalism, but US astronauts will remain dependent on Russia for access to the ISS at least until 2015 and will have to pay for seats in its Soyuz space capsules.

While I have my problems with the shuttle, which suffered from cost overruns and over hyped promises, it seems like just yesterday I watched a 747 make a test flight with the Enterprise piggybacked on its back. Frankly, if NASA is going to get tax dollars I would rather see NASA do what NASA does best than rather poison the political rhetoric fueled by Obama's radical environmental agenda.
