Jim Crumpley defends Billy Long today in the Springfield, News-Leader:
Roger Ray again displays the typical liberal attitude that if you don't agree with him you are too stupid to understand what he's talking about. He claims Billy Long's election was due to an election bought by special interests. He further laments the fact that we have a congressman in Washington who is "a college dropout with no relevant experience." May I ask, what relevant experience does Ray have that qualifies him for political commentary?
- Jim Crumpley, Springfield
Mr. Crumpley, the Federal Election Commission reports don't lie. Congressman Long has bonded with special interest and it started happening before he drank the Potomac Kool-Aid. While I don't agree with Mr. Ray's views most of the time, he has the First Amendment that qualifies him for political commentary, just like it does all Americans Mr. Crumpley. Thank God for that!
Mr. Long played the game he with the most money wins. This is why he personally made a $100,000 contribution to his campaign so he could instantly be cited as the money leader. For that, Mr. Long is no dumb cookie, but I remind you once again money has corrupted the American political system. When you consider some of the things Billy Long says, well it's obvious Mr. Long was looking for a bigger party over a better education when he dropped out of school.
Mr. Crumpley, I would like to wish you a Happy National Auctioneers Day all bought and paid for by special interest directly to Mr. Long's coffers.
